About The Position

Using cart or van to deliver mail to various departments and other buildings on campus. Cleaning of the van and the mailroom. Over the course of the Trainee stages, learns to operate the Copy equipment, the cardboard baler, the forklift, the van, the garbage compactor, the mailing equipment and the shipping computer.

Requirements

Must be able to work from Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
High School Diploma
No experience necessary
Must have good penmanship and possess excellent reading and memorization skills.
The Mail clerk is called upon to memorize a lot of people names, plus the depts. that they work for and what they do in those depts.
Basic knowledge of PC and email
Must be well organized
Ability to be on your feet all day – position requires a lot of walking
Must be able to lift packages, mail sacks, trays and tubs of mail up to 50 lbs.
Valid drivers license
Must have good interpersonal skills, able to assist costumers and work within a team environment
Have flexibility with schedule to handle work load

Responsibilities

Process incoming mail & packages for redistribution to all departments and team members
Distribute mail to all departments using wheeled cart or mail delivery van
Provide customer service
Organizing, copying and distributing documents
Process US Postal Mail – running postage machine and sort, tray or tub the mail for sending through the US Postal Service
Operate Cardboard baler, forklift, pallet jack, garbage compactor
