About The Position

AEXP Express Corporation is seeking a mail delivery driver/mail carrier for a United States Postal Service mail route in Ellsworth, Maine. The route starts on 11/21/2026. This is a full-time 1099 contractor position, with work six days per week, Monday through Saturday, except federal holidays. The estimated schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or less, and the route involves approximately 30–40 miles of driving per day, including a 15–20-mile delivery route. The contractor must provide a qualifying vehicle and minimum liability insurance. Compensation is $270 per day, paid monthly.

Requirements

• Must have legal documentation to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
• Must be able to work and safely drive in all types of weather conditions.
• Must reside in Ellsworth, Maine, or a neighboring town or city.
• Must have a qualifying minivan or cargo van that is less than five years old and has at least 120 cubic feet of cargo capacity.
• Must have minimum liability insurance.
• Must provide their own vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• Former USPS employees or contractors are highly recommended.
• A minivan or cargo van with at least 120 cubic feet of cargo space and no center console, to facilitate passenger-side mailbox delivery, is recommended; completing the route may be difficult without these features but is still possible.
• Must be available to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Sort mail and packages in delivery sequence for active mailboxes.
• Load mail and parcels in delivery sequence into a delivery vehicle.
• Deliver mail and packages to customer boxes along an assigned line of travel.
• Dismount when required to deliver parcels, Express mail, and other accountable mail items.
• Perform other required administrative duties.
