About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mail Clerk to provide mailroom and administrative support in Albany, NY. This temporary contract position is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining accurate records, organizing deliveries, and assisting with daily office operations. The ideal candidate will be organized, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Prior mailroom, clerical, administrative, or office support experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move mail trays, packages, and office materials as needed.
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages.
  • Prepare and process outgoing mail, deliveries, and correspondence.
  • Date stamp, log, and route documents as required.
  • Organize and maintain mailroom files and records.
  • Assist with scanning, copying, filing, and other clerical tasks.
  • Ensure mail and documents are delivered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Track and maintain records of incoming and outgoing items.
  • Communicate professionally with staff and departments regarding mail and deliveries.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient mailroom area.
  • Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
