About The Position

As a Temporary Mail Clerk, you would assist in facilitating the election process by using the mail-opening machinery to ensure all mail is opened, moved, and processed. Maricopa County Elections serves over 2.5 million registered voters as they exercise their right to make informed decisions regarding the selection of local and national leaders and ballot measures. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be a registered voter or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona by the time of hire.
Must pass an applicable background screening.
Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of warehouse experience.
One or more years of election experience.
One or more years of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Assists in facilitating the election process by using the mail-opening machinery to ensure all mail is opened, moved, and processed.
Requires long periods of standing while utilizing electronic mail opening machinery to open ballots in bulk prior to pre-tabulation ballot processing.
Pushes and pulls baker racks that weigh up to 150 pounds and postal cages weighing up to 250 pounds around the mail room, pre-tabulation processing staging area, or secured ballot vault.
Assists with end-of-day clean-up and mail room organization.
Assists other divisions of Elections with their daily functions and activities.
