About The Position
Caterpillar is hiring a Machinist at its East Peoria Building KK facility. The role involves operating, setting up, and adjusting automatic lathes to perform machining operations on miscellaneous parts. The team manufactures drivetrain components used in Caterpillar machines, with safety, quality, teamwork, and integrity emphasized.
Requirements
- Technical school education or equivalent educational background in a mechanical or similar discipline.
- Previous CNC or machine shop experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Nice To Haves
- Awareness of Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain (5S).
- Awareness of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and adjust automatic lathes to perform machining operations on miscellaneous parts.
- Execute machining operations on N/C lathes, including complex combinations of operations or limited combinations of close-tolerance operations.
- Manually operate vertical turret lathes.
- Adjust single-spindle automatic cutoff machines to perform cutoff and/or chamfer operations on barstock, tubing, and similar materials.
- Apply safe working methods.
