About The Position

Osgood Industries, LLC, is a leading provider of innovative packaging machinery solutions with a legacy of excellence since 1978. Located in Oldsmar, FL, Osgood designs and manufactures high-quality clean and ultra-clean filling systems for the food industry, delivering customized solutions and comprehensive lifecycle support to customers worldwide. We are seeking an experienced CNC Programming Machinist to join our manufacturing team on 2nd shift. This role is responsible for programming, setup, and operation of CNC machining equipment to produce high-quality precision components used in high performance industrial machinery. The ideal candidate is a skilled machinist who takes pride in craftsmanship, understands machining processes, and can independently interpret engineering drawings, develop programs, and optimize machining operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Strong CNC programming experience required
  • Experience with Mazak CNC programming
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T
  • Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and materials
  • Experience with precision machining and tight tolerances
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot machining and programming issues
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC turning centers using Mazatrol conversational programming
  • Experience machining stainless steel, engineered plastics, and other metals for production machinery
  • Basic knowledge of machine shop math (algebra, trigonometry, and geometry)
  • Experience with reading all programs and ability to identify and change all program aspects according to dimensional changes as needed
  • Ability to write, edit and read complex programs with a variety of features, specifications, including sub-programs, taper adjustments, cutter comp, and circle interpolate

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and/or machining centers
  • Create and modify CNC programs using Mazatrol or G-code and machine controls
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing instructions
  • Select proper tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies to achieve quality and efficiency goals
  • Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and first-piece inspections
  • Fabricate tooling, as needed
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make process improvements
  • Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools
  • Maintain accurate documentation including setup sheets, inspection records, and process notes
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
