About The Position

Lantech is seeking an experienced and dependable 2nd Shift Machinist to join their team. The machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating various machining equipment, holding tight tolerances, and ensuring high quality standards. Requirements

5+ years of experience in the machining trade
Can independently set up and operate CNC and manual machines
Skilled in producing both simple and complex parts to print
Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and strong work ethic
Comfortable working with tight tolerances and high-quality standards
Work effectively within a team environment
Dependable and maintain an excellent attendance record
High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

CNC programming experience
Prior forklift operation
Vocational or trade school training is a plus

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathes, CNC mills, manual lathes, and manual mills
Machine parts to print using both metric and inch drawings
Hold and inspect tight tolerances—sometimes less than 0.001 inch
Produce simple to complex components using a variety of machining equipment
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and optical comparators
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, including GD&T
Devise creative and unconventional part-holding methods when needed
Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity
Perform other duties as assigned
