About The Position

The Machinist performs precision machining tasks, including CNC program adjustments, machine setup and operation, and troubleshooting. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and maintain quality standards. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is onsite at the company’s manufacturing facility in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Scheduled work hours will be communicated by the manager. The Machinist also supports continuous improvement, quality, safety, production goals, training, and machine maintenance activities. The position may include operating forklifts under supervision and completing industrial lift truck certifications as needed. Duties and working hours or conditions may be assigned or changed by the company.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
At least 3 years of machining experience working with lathes and mills.
Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures.
Must establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Modify and fine-tune CNC programs to maintain efficiency and accuracy in alignment with engineering specifications.
Set up and operate CNC and manual machines, including multi-axis systems, while supporting smooth transitions and minimizing downtime.
Help diagnose and resolve machining and equipment issues, escalating complex problems to senior team members as needed.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce cycle times, improve quality, and support safety initiatives.
Share knowledge with entry-level machinists and collaborate with team members to promote best practices.
Assist in training new employees.
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Work with engineering, quality, and production teams to address minor design concerns and support manufacturability improvements.
Maintain accurate setup and tooling-change records and follow safety and regulatory requirements.
Suggest tooling improvements and assist with monitoring machine performance and preventive maintenance activities.
Help manage workflow within the machining cell, prioritize tasks under guidance, and support production goals.
Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts under supervision and complete industrial lift truck certifications as needed.
Collaborate with team members across departments and support other department functions as needed.
Help maintain a positive work environment and abide by company safety policies.
Take on other projects and duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor or company management.
