About The Position

Eaton’s B-Line division is currently seeking a Machinist to join our 2nd shift team in Tool and Die. This position is based at our Reno, NV. The core hours are 2:30PM - 11PM. The hourly rate for this position is $34.20 plus .50 shift differential per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years machining experience.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, and tape measures for checking dimensions.
  • Must be skilled in the operation of lathes, grinding machines, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format
  • Able to work safely and produce effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
  • Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint)
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
  • Employee will stoop, bend occasionally and walk frequently. Must be on feet all day.

Responsibilities

  • Able to determine and assess damage to existing tooling and what steps necessary to repair tooling.
  • Able to determine if Die is dull or cracked and needs to be resharpened or repaired.
  • Able to determine if the poor quality of a product is the result of a tooling problem, or a setup problem.
  • Able to Perform Die Changeovers for different products.
  • Read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, and tape measure for checking dimensions.
