About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Machinist (3rd Shift) - Tool & Die to join our team in Reno, NV! The hourly rate for this position is $34.20 plus $1 shift differential per hour. As a Machinist on our 3rd Shift Tool & Die team, you will play a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing tooling used in our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong machining experience, a keen eye for quality, and the ability to diagnose and resolve tooling-related issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of machining experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools.
  • Experience operating: Lathes, Milling machines, Grinding machines, Surface grinders, Drill presses.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and evaluate tooling to identify damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Diagnose tooling issues, including dull or cracked dies, and perform necessary repairs or sharpening.
  • Determine whether product quality concerns are caused by tooling or machine setup issues.
  • Perform die changeovers for various production runs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and tape measures, to verify dimensions.
