This is a union position where shifts are assigned by seniority. The role requires manual machining experience and involves completing a formal 6-month training program. Responsibilities include following instructions, blueprints, and sketches to build and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and parts, as well as overhauling machinery. The position requires operating all tool room machines to specified tolerances, using machinist's hand and power tools, and performing mathematical calculations. Welding, brazing, and heat-treating operations may also be required. Collaboration with operators and setup leads on new and revised setups is expected.
