About The Position

This is a union position where shifts are assigned by seniority. The role requires manual machining experience and involves completing a formal 6-month training program. Responsibilities include following instructions, blueprints, and sketches to build and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and parts, as well as overhauling machinery. The position requires operating all tool room machines to specified tolerances, using machinist's hand and power tools, and performing mathematical calculations. Welding, brazing, and heat-treating operations may also be required. Collaboration with operators and setup leads on new and revised setups is expected.

Requirements

Must have manual machining experience.
Two (2) year technical degree or equivalent experience.
Two years practical experience with demonstration of skills in a work-based assessment.

Responsibilities

Complete and pass a formal 6-month training program.
Follow written or verbal instructions, blueprints, and sketches.
Lay out work.
Build and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and parts.
Build and overhaul machinery.
Set up and operate all tool room machines to specified tolerances.
Use machinist’s hand and power tools and measuring instruments.
Make necessary mathematical calculations.
Perform welding, brazing, and heat-treating operations when required.
Work with operators and or setup leads on installation of new setups and revised setups.
