About The Position

Karman Space & Defense is currently seeking a talented and experienced Machinist. You will set up, and operate 3, 4, & 5-axis, vertical and horizontal CNC milling and turning machines to perform diversified machining operations on work having close tolerance and finish specifications. You will take the initiative to ensure work is done accurately and completely. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent in work experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude, math skills
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong understanding of turning and milling processes, including multi-axis machining techniques.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, defense and aerospace materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to develop efficient machining processes and tooling strategies for complex defense and aerospace components.
  • Operate machinery and equipment in a manufacturing facility.
  • Assemble components according to specifications and production schedules.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete tasks.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed to ensure optimal performance.
