About The Position

As a Machinist, you will write, edit, and operate manual and CNC equipment, and perform routine equipment maintenance. Additional duties may apply as required. The work supports aviation safety and reliability by helping repair and manufacture critical aerospace components used across the global aviation industry. This position works 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday, from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The shift differential is an additional $2.50 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience with manual machines.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and familiarity with Microsoft packages.
Understanding of G and M codes.
Obtain machining certificates as required by the equipment.
Successfully pass initial and annual hearing and vision exams.
Occasionally push or pull using material-handling equipment up to 500 pounds.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to type, handle, or feel.
Have close, distance, and color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Trade school education or certificate.
Experience with Fanuc controllers.
Experience with O-M VTLs and Sip, K&T, Shibaura, or Ikegai mills.
Manual machining experience.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently set up and operate common machine tools and equipment.
Machine parts using horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes, engine lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
Perform simple to complex machine setups with little to no assistance.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics.
Apply working knowledge of machine tools and parts, including setup, operation, and maintenance.
Monitor machine feed and speed during machining.
Write and edit programs for manual and CNC equipment.
Perform routine equipment maintenance.
