About The Position

Reliable Equipment in Warminster is looking for a full-time Machinist/Machine Setup Operator. Reliable Equipment MFG Co. is a modern and clean (air-conditioned) manufacturing facility looking for a Machinist / Machine Setup Operator to be a part of a growing team serving the Power and Utility industry. A Machinist / Machine Setup Operator is responsible for the setup and operating Vertical and Horizontal Machining centers to produce precision parts and components. The application of mechanical knowledge, manufacturing techniques, work-holding, and CNC machine setup procedures, is required. Safety and accuracy must be at the forefront of all tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (Vo-tech, MFG trade school or equivalent preferred)
  • Prior experience with machine tools and equipment
  • Mechanical or technical background
  • Professional knowledge of safety protocols
  • 3 years+ operating CNC and set up of machines.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Programming in NC Code
  • Strong sense in MFG design and work-holding
  • Thorough understanding of machine tooling and utilization
  • Excellent knowledge of material properties
  • Must be reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
  • Attentive to detail
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Horizontal machining experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run existing jobs on a variety of CNC milling equipment (experience with both vertical and horizontal machining centers is preferred).
  • Perform machining operations with the aim of minimizing costs and time, deliberately seeking the most efficient process, while making quality parts that match the prints specifications and are withing tolerances.
  • Operate multiple machine tools and perform delegated tasks simultaneously in orchestration with other operators, to maximize productivity and teamwork.
  • Interpret technical drawings and work order instructions in accordance with company and industry standards, processing all required documentation and accountability in production.
  • Validate setups, first articles, and machining operations by performing inspections of component features and monitoring tooling life and equipment performance.
  • Process all work by following defined and implied workmanship standards, deburring, cleaning, and preparing machined parts for the next operation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and cleanup of all equipment, machinery, and facilities in the individuals work center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
