Machine Setup Operator H}

ARCH•Woburn, MA

About The Position

The Machine Setup Operator operates and sets up machines for non-complex machining operations. The role involves loading and unloading material and parts, performing housekeeping and maintenance checks, adjusting machine and tool offsets, and setting up fixtures, tools, CNC programs, and machining offsets according to provided instructions. The operator monitors machine performance, adjusts setups to produce parts within specification, and documents first-piece results. The position also involves identifying tool wear, building and changing tooling, reading CNC programs, inspecting parts with hand tools and specialty equipment, and operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The operator interprets blueprints, specifications, and quality plans, completes quality documentation, may operate multiple machines, and trains employees on equipment for which they are fully competent. Problems are referred to more senior machining employees, engineers, or supervisors. The role has no process design, development, repair, or rework responsibilities. Successful performance requires attention to quality, productivity, and safety; the ability to read workplace documents and communicate effectively; basic mathematical, reasoning, and computer skills; and the ability to work well with others. The job requires standing and handling parts and equipment, with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts in a usually moderately noisy environment. ARCH Global Precision states that it is an equal opportunity employer and that employment is at will.
