About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Machinist III for its Landing Gear Facility in Miami Gardens, Florida. The role produces machined parts by setting up and operating CNC or manual equipment, including mills, lathes, and bandsaws. The machinist measures materials, selects appropriate equipment, sets up and adjusts machining operations, inspects completed work, interprets technical documentation, and maintains records and quality and safety standards. This is an onsite, second-shift role, Monday through Friday, from 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. It is safety-sensitive under FAA guidelines and requires a U.S. Person. No security clearance is required.

Requirements

Typically, a high school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
At least 2 years of relevant experience.
Working experience in a manufacturing industry or machine shop.
Ability to work second shift, Monday through Friday, 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.
Must be a U.S. Person.

Nice To Haves

Experience interpreting and understanding machine codes.
Experience with 5-axis machines.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC or manual machines, including mills, lathes, and bandsaws, to produce machined parts.
Use precision hand-measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
Measure materials and select appropriate machines for the process.
Perform machining setups and make adjustments as required.
Inspect work produced.
Interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, materials, and dimensional requirements.
Keep records and maintain quality and safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
