About The Position

The Machinist operates and sets up a variety of machines such as CNC lathes, CNC mills, CNC mill turn, and setup machines with quick change tooling and checks own work for conformance to specifications. The Machinist inspects and verifies their own work to ensure quality standards are met, while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and safe operating practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years CNC machine shop experience as a machinist operating CNC machine.
  • High School diploma or GED or trade school certification.
  • Must be able to remain the setup.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Must be capable of working and maintaining tolerances within .0002” in a high-pressure, fast-paced, quality-oriented environment.
  • Mathematics - General machine shop math: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Production and Processes - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
  • Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Required to work weekend shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) schedule 6 am to 6 pm
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. Responsibilities

  • Checks CNC machines to ensure proper raw material is loaded in bar feeds based on individual setup sheets.
  • Checks and fills CNC machines to ensure coolant tanks are full and at correct viscosity levels using a refractometer
  • Modify speeds and feeds as necessary
  • Operate two or more machines at one time.
  • Run cells with gear machines and other manual equipment.
  • Setup machines with quick change tooling.
  • Work from blueprints, plans methods and sequences of machining to produce quality parts to conform to specifications.
  • Checks own work for conformance to specifications.
  • Identify and stocking raw materials.
  • Bench drills small diameters and inspecting work to ensure compliance.
  • Operate tumbler, wash, debur drill press and other simple equipment.
  • Actively participate in safety and continuous improvement and processes needed to ensure production is efficient, compliant, and meets quality standards.
