About The Position

The Machinist II position performs all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of components. This role operates all manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets. The position involves changing, setting, and adjusting precision tools, loading and deleting programs, and making minor adjustments to machine feeds and speeds. The machinist will also grind their own cutting tools and drills, maintain specific tolerances and dimensions, and check parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures. Routine maintenance checks and reporting of improper machine function are also part of the duties. The role requires maintaining a neat and orderly work area, following safety rules, and assisting with training of other employees as needed. This is an on-site position in Stuart, FL, working Friday to Sunday, 6 PM to 6 AM, with a 15% shift differential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude
  • Working knowledge with VTLs, specifically Doosan and/or Okuma
  • Knowledge and ability to use machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry

Responsibilities

  • Operates all manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets
  • Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools as required
  • Loads and deletes programs in the computer
  • Makes minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine
  • Grinds own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools)
  • Maintains specific tolerances and accurately performs dimensions
  • Checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained
  • Performs routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine function
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and precautions
  • Assists with related training of other employees as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
