About The Position

The Machinist operates and sets up a variety of equipment, including CNC lathes, mills, and mill-turn machines, with minimal supervision. This role is responsible for full setup and safe operation of all types of CNC Lathes / Milling machining equipment and tools that produce precision parts. Will produce small batches or large quantities and ensure products meet precise customer specifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ years CNC machine shop experience as a machinist operating CNC Lathes and Milling machines.
  • High school diploma, GED, trade school certification, or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to operate and set a variety CNC machine make/model (either mills and/or mill turns) proficiently.
  • Must be able to perform machine setups independently.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs frequently and up to 35 lbs occasionally
  • Must be capable of working and maintaining tolerances within .0002” in a high-pressure, fast-paced, quality-oriented environment. (Must pass level III test)
  • Mathematics - Knowledge of basic shop math and dimensions (need to pass test based on sketches)
  • Production and Processes - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
  • Required Weekend Shift: Employees must be available to work on a weekend schedule consisting of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. Responsibilities

  • Operates and monitors multiple CNC lathe and milling machines concurrently.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying G-codes and M-codes.
  • Ability to perform tool touch-offs and adjust offsets as required.
  • Produce accurate first article parts and submit them for inspection.
  • Adjust speeds and feeds with prior approval from the Supervisor or Manufacturing Engineer (ME).
  • Modify CNC programs as needed with Supervisor or ME authorization.
  • Capable reading and interpreting blueprints, including GD&T specifications.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling, equipment, or setup.
  • Maintain precision work within tolerances of ±0.0002" in a fast-paced, high-pressure, quality-driven environment.
  • Ensure machines and work areas are maintained for safe and efficient operation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Level I and Level II machinists.
