About The Position

I.D. or O.D. grind machinists produce work efficiently while meeting drawing and planning specifications and requirements. The role involves setting up and operating CNC spherical grinding equipment, completing part setups to achieve first-article acceptance, and inspecting precision-machined parts throughout production. The position is fully onsite at the designated Regal Rexnord office.

Requirements

• At least three to five years of experience operating and setting up CNC spherical grinding equipment.
• Skill using indicators, gages, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first-article and in-process inspection of precision-machined parts.
• Ability to maintain close tolerances, including within .0003 inches on IDs and .0003 profile and roundness.
• Understanding of machine-tool accuracies and tool offsets.
• Knowledge of cutting-wheel feeds, speeds, and wheel life for aerospace grinding.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and interpret blueprints and quality requirements.
• Ability to communicate positively with employees and management.
• Ability to lift a maximum of 25 lbs; lifting more than 25 lbs requires assistance.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• U.S. Person status, or the ability to qualify for a license permitting the person to hold the position, may be required due to federal export-control restrictions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Complete setups with minimal supervision or assistance.
• Perform all phases of part-operation setup to achieve first-article acceptance.
• Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspections and records.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part-quality variation.
• Input data into visual management forms and convey results to management.
• Continuously improve processes and procedures and eliminate waste.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
