Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Strong background in setting up, light programming, and operating CNC Vertical mills.
  • Proficiency with Haas, Mitsubishi, Milltronics controls is preferred.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to shop safety protocols.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; vocational or technical certification in machining is preferred.
  • Ability to work well in a team is important.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Haas, Mitsubishi, Milltronics controls is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning, layout, setup, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines.
  • Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.
  • Checks and inspects and builds machining operations against specified tolerances.
  • May include work with fabrication, sheet metal operations, or machine hardware and assemblies.
  • May also make recommendations concerning use of and improvement upon materials and design.
  • Responsible for producing high-precision components, troubleshooting complex tooling issues, and ensuring zero defects.
  • Requiring minimal supervision.
  • Program (G-code / conversational), edit, and set up Vertical mill CNC machines.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and design custom holding fixtures for challenging jobs.
  • Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges.
  • Diagnose and correct dimensional discrepancies and machine malfunctions on the fly.
  • Assist and train junior operators/machinists on best machining practices.
