About The Position

Set-up, adjust and operate conventional and/or CNC machines to fabricate required parts. This role involves studying blueprints, sketches, drawings, or other provided information to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements. The machinist will prepare the correct material for machining, select the most appropriate tools, and calculate and set controls for machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit programs. A key responsibility is to run the first piece, make adjustments as needed, and ensure the part meets print specifications. Proficiency in navigating and entering data into the TSE ERP system is also required. Teamwork is emphasized as an essential function for the company's success, promoting positive customer relations and business growth.

Requirements

  • Complete and maintain General Safety Orientation.
  • Complete and maintain Hearing Protection Training.
  • Certificate from a college or technical school; or three to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to perform machinist’s math.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regularly use hands, fingers, and arms.
  • Regularly talk and/or hear.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. (Use team lift or appropriate equipment for items weighing >50 lbs).
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
