About The Position

Set-up, adjust and operate conventional and/or CNC machines to fabricate required parts. This role involves studying blueprints, sketches, drawings, or other provided information to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements. The machinist will prepare the correct material for machining, select the most appropriate tools for the assigned tasks, and calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit program. Running the first piece and making adjustments as needed to ensure the part meets print specifications is also a key responsibility. Proficiency in navigating the TSE ERP system and correctly entering data is required. Teamwork is emphasized as an essential function for TSE’s continued success, driving positive results, promoting positive customer relations, and growing the business.

Requirements

• Complete and maintain General Safety Orientation.
• Complete and maintain Hearing Protection Training.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to perform machinist’s math.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Regularly use hands, fingers, and arms.
• Regularly talk and/or hear.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Use a team lift approach or appropriate equipment for items weighing >50 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Certificate from a college or technical school.
• Three to twelve months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
