About The Position

Keep production moving by setting up and operating CNC and conventional machining equipment to meet quality and schedule targets. You will work onsite on the 2nd shift (Monday–Friday, 1:30pm–10:00pm; occasional Saturdays) and collaborate with the production team, quality, and engineering to deliver parts that meet specifications. Your work directly supports manufacturing output and safety compliance.

Requirements

  • Secondary Certificate / High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience operating CNC machines independently
  • Proven ability to set up and run production equipment such as shear cutters and hydraulic presses
  • Proficiency with hand tools and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers) and ability to demonstrate their use in an interview
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job documentation accurately
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise judgment with minimal supervision
  • Basic math proficiency to support measurement and machining tasks
  • Commitment to quality control, attention to detail, and adherence to safety procedures

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines and production equipment (shear cutters, presses, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, stamping presses)
  • Perform machine setups, adjustments, and routine maintenance to ensure efficient, quality production
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, job travelers, and manuals to meet specifications
  • Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to verify product quality and tolerances
  • Conduct tests, analyses, and calibrate assemblies per procedures and safety guidelines
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions to maintain peak performance
  • Choose appropriate cutting tools, adjust speeds and feeds, and ensure proper tool setups
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation and keep machine tools in good working order
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and maintain quality standards
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; may require nights, weekends, variable schedules, and additional hours as necessary
