About The Position

This role is responsible for utilizing a variety of equipment to produce quality piston rings for aerospace and industrial use. The position involves working from prints, sketches, process sheets, travelers, and verbal instructions, and requires the use of precision measuring instruments to meet strict tolerances. The operator will perform equipment set-ups, make adjustments to machinery, and handle material transport, dipping, coating, and wrapping of products. Additionally, the role includes training new hires, performing basic machine lubrication, and maintaining records. The job is safety sensitive and requires compliance with Export Control / ITAR regulations.

Requirements

  • HSD or GED.
  • Familiarity and basic understanding of blueprints.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude.
  • Must meet requirements for Export Control / ITAR Compliance.
  • Must be able to train on a shift other than home shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years manufacturing experience as helper or operator in an industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Previous work with metals (cast iron, stainless steel, inconel, titanium, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety and quality policies.
  • Follow Company rules/policies.
  • Communicate with supervision on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Work from prints, sketches, process sheets, travelers, and verbal instructions.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, air gage, dial, indicator, depth feeler gage) to measure parts to specified tolerances.
  • Perform equipment set ups.
  • Make adjustments on equipment, including offsets, insert or tooling changes, and feeds and speeds.
  • Transport materials.
  • Perform dipping, coating, and wrapping of products as needed.
  • Train new hires.
  • Perform operator-capable lubrication of service to machines and equipment.
  • Maintain records and paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
