About The Position

To utilize a variety of equipment to produce quality piston rings for aerospace and industrial use. This is a safety-sensitive role that requires adherence to all safety and quality policies, as well as company rules and policies. The position involves working from prints, sketches, process sheets, travelers, and verbal instructions, and requires the use of precision measuring instruments to meet tight tolerances. The role also includes performing equipment set-ups, making adjustments, transporting materials, training new hires, performing basic machine lubrication, and maintaining records. The factory is temperature-controlled.

Requirements

  • HSD or GED.
  • Familiarity and basic understanding of blueprints.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude.
  • Must meet requirements for Export Control / ITAR Compliance.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Favorable pre-employment screening results.
  • Must be able to train on shift other than home shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years manufacturing experience as helper or operator in industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Previous work with metals (cast iron, stainless steel, inconel, titanium, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Follows all safety and quality policies.
  • Follows Company rules/policies.
  • Communicates with supervision on regular basis.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Working from prints, sketches, process sheets, travelers, and verbal instructions.
  • Use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, air gage, dial, indicator, depth feeler gage to measure width, wall face width, step height, depth angle, to tolerances generally within .001", occasionally as close as .0001".
  • Performs equipment set ups.
  • Makes adjustments on equipment such as, and not limited to offsets, insert or tooling changes, feeds and speeds, etc.
  • Transport materials; perform dipping, coating, and wrapping of products as needed.
  • Trains new hires.
  • Perform operator capable lubrication of service to machines and equipment.
  • Maintain records and paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
