About The Position

Starr Boiler and Machinery is seeking a Machinery Specialist to conduct boiler and pressure vessel inspections and help ensure the safety and regulatory compliance of clients’ machinery and equipment. The full-time role is open to candidates based in Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan. Risk assessment capability is a plus. The specialist will manage a multi-state territory, work independently, communicate with clients at all levels, and provide clear reports and recommendations. Internal boiler examinations are part of the work and require physical capability and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Hold a National Board commission with an “IS” endorsement, or be able to obtain a National Board commission within 12 months of hire.
• Experience conducting jurisdictional inspections of regulated boilers and pressure vessels.
• Proficient knowledge of ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional regulations.
• Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with clients at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and manage a multi-state territory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Physical capability and attention to detail to perform internal boiler examinations.
