About The Position

The Machine Shop Support Technician assists with machine shop activities at Aerotech, a precision motion and automation company. The role supports the preparation, movement, and upkeep of materials and parts in a clean, climate-controlled shop environment. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One to three months of related experience and/or training in a machine shop or similar environment.
Ability to recognize and use hand tools such as a file, tri-blade, and drill.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations to other employees.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Basic computer skills.
Must be authorized to work in the United States currently and in the future without employer sponsorship.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Remove burrs and reduce sharp surfaces on precision-machined parts.
Recognize and use hand tools such as files, tri-blades, and drills.
Operate CNC and manual bandsaws.
Match blueprints to raw materials and travelers using the correct part number and revision.
Read basic blueprints.
Load and unload materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks.
Deliver metal parts or stock to designated machining work areas.
Reclaim metal chip bins from machining centers.
Assist with regular inventory cycle counts.
Care for and maintain respirators.
Refill machine lubricant reservoirs.
Maintain basic shop organization.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
