About The Position

The Machine Operator will oversee the complete function of Line during each production run. He/She will be responsible for set up and monitoring all machine and equipment, adjust and verify all controls according to requirements. Responsible for ensuring staff break times in accordance to company policy. Responsible for the complete set-up, tear down, washing, cleaning and sanitizing of all machines and equipment. Ensures that all supplies needed are available before, and during each production run. Ensures all production documents and records are properly and accurately completed. Performs all these activities in compliance with companys personnel safety, food safety, food defense and food quality systems.

Requirements

  • Basic math, reading skills, good communication skills, written and oral.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-learner and ability to multi-task.
  • Basic computer knowledge/IPad.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs and 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, work in an environment where stooping, twisting and bending are frequent up to 12 hrs.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate properly.
  • Positive attitude; team player.
  • Proactive, disciplined and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete function of Line during each production run.
  • Set up and monitor all machine and equipment.
  • Adjust and verify all controls according to requirements.
  • Ensure staff break times in accordance with company policy.
  • Complete set-up, tear down, washing, cleaning, and sanitizing of all machines and equipment.
  • Ensure all supplies needed are available before and during each production run.
  • Ensure all production documents and records are properly and accurately completed.
  • Perform all activities in compliance with company's personnel safety, food safety, food defense, and food quality systems.
  • Work in the hard packing area, from set up of machine to stacking.
  • Request product based on work order specification.
  • Meet or exceed established Production run rates and Quality process indicators.
  • Maintain and record reports on work orders processed and quantities produced.
  • Communicate with shift supervisor for production results and any unforeseen situations.
  • Follow up and resolve issues that occur during each production run.
  • Communicate regularly with maintenance technicians to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
  • Notify supervisor of recurring equipment malfunction within 15 min of down time.
  • Operate a pallet jack and safely move up to 2000 lbs of product.
  • Train direct reports in job functions.
