A Machine Operator sets up and operates metal fabricating machines, such as brakes, lathes, cutters, borers, millers, grinders, presses, drills, rolls, shears, saws, and presses, to cut, bend, straighten, and form metal plates, sheets, and structural shapes according to blueprints and specifications. This role requires the ability to run and set up all machine tools within the machine shop, perform own set-ups, load correct programs, and set tool offsets. Familiarity with G-codes is necessary, along with daily and monthly machine maintenance. Programming and set-up experience in a fast-paced environment is desired, with experience in numerous controls like Fanuc, Okuma, and Hurco being a plus. Other duties may be assigned by the area supervisor.
