About The Position

Novolex is hiring a Machine Operator in Walton, Kentucky, to operate paper bag production equipment for grocery, retail, and specialty paper bags. The role includes setting up machinery and materials, monitoring production and quality, documenting work, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Available schedules are rotating 12-hour day shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) and night shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m.). Starting pay is $21.06 per hour, with an additional $1 per hour shift differential for night shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or applicable work experience.
• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing work environment.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Operate paper bag production equipment to produce grocery bags, retail bags, and specialty paper bag products.
• Perform routine inspections to verify bag dimensions, print accuracy, glue application, and handle attachment; remove and report defects.
• Set up machinery and prepare materials, including paper rolls, ink, adhesives, and packaging supplies, before production begins.
• Read and verify production orders for accuracy.
• Monitor equipment during operation and promptly report jams, print defects, mechanical issues, and other problems.
• Complete daily production and quality documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safety-focused work area; store equipment and tools safely and manage production waste properly.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Work overtime as required.
• Complete training courses as determined by management.
