About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machines in a designated department. Operators may work with computer-controlled equipment or mechanically based machines, processing materials according to company specifications and customer requirements. The role includes maintaining product quality and meeting quality and efficiency standards, keeping inventory entries accurate, and following company safety procedures. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Duties may change or expand based on business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Ability to follow detailed instructions, including reading a tape measure, blueprints, and production schematics.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented and self-directed.

Nice To Haves

Machine Operator experience.
Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate various machines.
Run material through machines according to company specifications.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly, and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Ensure correct materials are used to meet customer specifications.
Complete inventory entries accurately.
Inspect products and maintain product quality.
Meet quality and efficiency standards.
Follow company safety policies and report concerns related to machine maintenance.
Test machine operation periodically.
Complete special projects as business needs dictate.
