About The Position

Multi-Color Corporation (MCC), a global leader in premium labels, is seeking a Machine Operator. Experience is not required, though it is a bonus. The role involves checking print and seam quality, removing defective material and splicing roll web, handling and palletizing rolls, and recording operational data. The position is offered on second shift (2 p.m.–10 p.m.) or third shift (10 p.m.–6 a.m.).

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate label counts and conversions, including using units of American money and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing; using hands to finger, feel, and touch; reaching with arms and hands; talking and hearing; and frequent walking. Occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is required.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Continuously check print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice the roll web back together according to specifications.
• Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing, and use these tools at other times as necessary.
• Handle and palletize rolls to avoid damaging them.
• Understand basic printing and seam-related defects.
• Record and enter data on designated paperwork and in the company operations system, Globetek.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
