About The Position

The Machine Operator at Donaldson’s Baldwin, Wisconsin location sets up and operates metalworking machines to fabricate products to specifications. This is an onsite weekend-shift role, working Friday through Sunday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., with pay for 40 hours. The position is overtime eligible under state and federal regulations and is eligible for a gainsharing plan based on the achievement of specific goals.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read blueprints and understand written and verbal instructions.
Knowledge of general safety practices.
Knowledge of general metal material properties.
Ability to work with close tolerances.
Strong mechanical ability and mathematical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to interact constructively and effectively with all plant employees.
Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal.
Ability to react productively to change and handle other tasks as assigned.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Ability to listen, be trainable, retain information, follow safety guidelines and protocols, and be self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with manufacturing processes and inventory control practices is strongly desired.
Some press brake or sheet metal forming experience.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate metalworking machines to fabricate to specifications.
Schedule and handle materials.
Assure compliance with print specifications.
Utilize computer programming.
Maintain a clean, organized work area.
Comply with safety, DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
Use all designated personal protective equipment as required.
Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill Donaldson’s mission, vision, and strategic plan objectives.
