About The Position

SpaceAge Synthetics is seeking a Machine Operator for its weekend day shift. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM. Employees work 36 hours and are paid for 40 hours; voluntary overtime is available. Starting wage is $22.00 per hour, depending on experience. The Machine Operator operates a press machine or CNC table router and directs the activities of an assigned Material Handler. The role involves understanding customer and machine requirements and learning to program press settings, including speed and material quantities. Basic math skills, including adding fractions and division, are required. Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience is required. SpaceAge Synthetics manufactures fiberglass-reinforced polyurethane boards for industries where moisture can damage traditional plywood. The company states that it is ISO 9001:2015 registered and SHARP certified by OSHA, and that it works to provide a safe working environment, including equipment guards and testing air quality and sound levels.

Requirements

At least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience.
Basic math skills, including adding fractions and division.
Ability to perform moderate lifting of 50 pounds and occasional heavy lifting of 75 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of or experience working with fiberglass.
