About The Position

The Machine Operator position is responsible for setting up and operating various fabrication machinery, including fastener insertion machines, semi-automatic welding equipment, wide belt sanders, and vibratory tumbling machines. This role involves working at different workstations as needed, receiving and handling inventory, inspecting parts for defects, and adhering to all company work instructions, policies, and procedures. The operator will follow directions from work orders and production drawings, process orders according to the production schedule, and perform all job functions safely. This position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
• Able to read and understand Engineering prints
• Is date-driven in support of production schedules
• Capable of set-up and running of complex machines
• Must possess a strong attention to detail
• Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Proficient computer skills
• Able to perform basic mathematical computations
• Good verbal communication skills
• Capable of using factory PC systems where production data is typically entered

• Receive, checks and handles inventory
• Inspect parts, products and machinery for defects
• Follow all applicable Havis work instructions, policies and procedures
• Follow directions, as noted on work order travelers and production drawings
• Follow verbal instructions from Production Supervisor or Lead personnel
• Process orders as dictated by the production schedule
• Perform the job function in a safe manner
• Must be able to work independently and with a team
• Maintain a clean safe, work area
