About The Position

Boston Centerless is hiring a Machine Operator to set up and operate one or more centerless grinding machines. The role grinds external cylindrical or tapered surfaces of rotating metal, aluminum, and plastic workpieces to blueprint specifications, following instructions and applying knowledge of grinding procedures. The position includes reading blueprints and job orders, setting up and testing machines, and producing precision parts in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Vocational education or an apprenticeship in an industrial environment.
• Prior manufacturing work experience.
• Experience using a manual micrometer.
• Basic math and mechanical aptitude.
• High standards of dependability, quality, and service.
• Enjoys working as part of a team and getting work done.

Responsibilities

• Set up, test, and operate one or more centerless grinding machines.
• Read blueprints and job orders to understand product specifications.
• Manufacture quality parts in a timely manner and inspect and measure them to ensure quality and completeness.
• Identify and report problems, look for solutions, and seek continuous improvement in procedures.
• Accurately complete paperwork.
