About The Position

Closets by Design - Chicago South is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Machine Operator to join its growing team. The company designs, manufactures, and installs custom home organizing systems, including closets, home office furniture, media systems, wall beds, and garage cabinetry. The role involves operating woodworking machinery and hand tools while meeting the company’s quality and safety standards. Work is Monday through Friday, with no weekends and no required overtime. Tools and equipment are provided.

Requirements

• Experience in woodworking or cabinet-making fields is preferred; experience with 32mm systems is noted.
• Experience with woodworking equipment and hand tools is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools.
• Understand company product lines, machinery, assembly standards, and installation techniques.
• Follow quality and safety standards.
• Maintain shop equipment according to an established schedule.
• Understand cut lists for daily jobs.
• Perform additional tasks or projects as defined by the Operations Manager.
