About The Position

The Machine Operator operates machinery in the fabrication shop and ensures equipment is maintained and serviced according to established protocols. The role includes operating, maintaining, and demonstrating mastery of one or more machines, with cross-training on multiple machines as applicable. The operator inspects slabs for defects, ensures cuts are accurate, and polishes and cuts stone and edges to specifications. The position applies growing knowledge of materials and stone characteristics to produce quality output, performs machine operations and maintenance accurately and efficiently, supports workflow and production schedules, and may guide or mentor other operators as applicable. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment, with increasing responsibility over time.
• Experience running machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic to advanced mechanical skills related to equipment maintenance.
• Ability to drive production according to a set schedule.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Cross-functional expertise on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to identify stone characteristics and material defects accurately.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and stoop for 8 or more hours.
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
