About The Position

Pratt is a privately held producer of 100% recycled containerboard and a corrugated packaging company, with manufacturing facilities in more than 27 states. The Machine Operator is responsible for production-machine activities, including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending operational improvements. The position is full-time in Carlisle, and pay starts at $22.77, depending on position and shift.

Requirements

Be able to read and understand instructions.
High school diploma or GED.
Good work history.
Read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
Calculate percentages, measurements, volume, and rate, and apply high-school math concepts.
Apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or graphic instructions and address problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Meet the position's vision requirements, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Monitor product quality.
Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
Train and assist First and Second Helpers with machine duties.
Cross-train on other machines.
Complete production, machine-status, safety, and quality reports accurately and on time.
Submit maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs and proactively maintain equipment.
Switch duties with the First Helper as necessary.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping requirements.
Follow the production schedule and recommend schedule improvements to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
Report unusual scheduling issues to the Supervisor.
Perform additional duties assigned by management.
