Machine Operator (2nd Shift)

About The Position

The Machine Operator operates plant machinery as directed and follows safety policies and procedures to produce quality concrete products. The role works with equipment and raw materials through production to the yard stage, inspects product quality, monitors machinery, and helps maintain accurate production and an orderly work area. The operator may cross-train on other parts of the production process and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or at least one year of experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures and operating and maintenance instructions and manuals.
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds, with assistance if needed, from floor level to four feet high.
Must wear personal protective equipment, including ear plugs, a hard hat, steel-toe shoes, and protective glasses.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment efficiently to produce concrete products from raw materials through the yard stage.
Inspect products for quality according to standards.
Assist in maintaining accurate production.
Monitor machinery and associated equipment to detect and report malfunctions.
Perform machine clean-up, set-up, and other tasks associated with job changes.
Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area and follow applicable housekeeping and safety procedures.
Cross-train on other aspects of the production process.
Maintain accuracy in all aspects of work assignments.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Lead Operators, or others in a responsible position.
