About The Position

Swenson Granite is hiring a Machine Operator for its Stone Thermal Line at the Production Plant in Barre, Vermont. The operator handles sawn slabs, loads them onto the thermal line using an overhead crane, and feeds them into the thermal machine, which applies a textured finish to slabs used for landscaping products. The position uses automated and manually operated machinery and includes measuring, inspecting, cleaning, and basic autonomous maintenance tasks. No prior experience or training is required; training is provided.

Requirements

• No prior experience or training is required; training is provided.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Stand regularly and walk frequently; occasionally reach with hands and arms and push or pull on conveyors within the parameters of work-release status.

Responsibilities

• Use automated and manually operated machinery to produce stone landscaping products.
• Load and feed slabs into the thermal machine.
• Check dimensions using a tape measure.
• Identify imperfections related to the production process.
• Use an overhead crane to move slabs.
• Clean stone slabs and the work area using a low-pressure water hose.
• Clean and perform autonomous maintenance on the thermal machine.
• Follow safety procedures, regulations, and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
