About The Position

The Machine Operator monitors and assists with the operation and maintenance of production lines to ensure efficient, continuous product flow. The role reports to the Shift Supervisor and is based in Grant Park, Illinois. The available schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Starting pay is $19.37 per hour, with a $1.00 shift differential. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

Lockout/tagout knowledge.
Knowledge of machine operation or mechanical skills.
Reading, writing, and computation skills normally acquired through completion of a high school or GED program.
Manual dexterity.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
Ability to stand for extended periods, including the length of the shift.
Ability to withstand seasonal temperature extremes and frequent bending, pushing, and reaching.

Responsibilities

Set up and change over plastic rolls on each line to support continuous operation and minimize downtime.
Diagnose machine problems.
Make minor machine or process repairs and adjustments.
Notify the supervisor and mechanic when major problems cause excessive scrap or downtime.
Maintain accurate shift production records.
Keep the work area clean and safe.
Assist Packers as needed.
Develop skills through the Operator Skills Development program.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Verify item date codes hourly during required QC audits.
Verify that First Part Approval Work Order numbers are correct on carton labels.
Support plant product food safety management programs, initiatives, and objectives.
