About The Position

S.A. Comunale is seeking a Machine Operator / Welder for its fabrication shop. Working closely with other fabrication shop employees, this role prepares pipe and other materials needed to complete company jobs and performs welding functions while following safety measures. Work is expected to be completed in a timely and efficient manner. The position is represented by the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #219.

The role requires the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, multitasked environment with a focus on detail and accuracy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of welding experience, with skill levels to obtain a 2G.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches, and prepare materials accordingly.
• Adjust weld parameters and machine settings to ensure welds meet specifications.
• Inspect welds for non-conformances or missing welds; repair or rework as needed and alert other employees when necessary.
• Perform daily machine maintenance.
• Inspect pipe for quality issues and verify that end preparation is correct.
• Use math skills as frequently required.
