About The Position

ABB is hiring a Fabrication Machine Operator for its onsite location in Mebane, North Carolina. The position performs routine machine setup and adjustments, repairs or fits simple replacement parts, and supports maintenance, programming, and troubleshooting of production equipment. The operator keeps records of machine setups, repairs, and maintenance, and tracks approved, defective, and finished products.

The role follows assigned workflows, ABB standard processes, safety guidelines, operating manuals, work schedules, and production-order instructions. The operator is also responsible for maintaining a safe working attitude and environment during daily activities. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge and use of tools such as tape measures, calipers, grinders, or other hand tools, as needed.
• Ability to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as needed.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
• Must already have work authorization permitting employment with ABB in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 year working in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine machinery setup and adjustments.
• Repair machinery and fit simple replacement parts.
• Carry out regular standard maintenance of equipment and tools.
• Perform setup and programming activities, troubleshoot issues, and report them.
• Maintain detailed records of machinery setups, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Keep track of approved, defective, and final products.
• Complete assigned tasks according to agreed workflows, ABB standard processes, and safety guidelines, and report non-compliance.
• Operate machines according to the operating manual, work schedule, and/or production-order instructions.
• Maintain a safe working attitude and environment while performing daily activities.
