About The Position

S.A. Comunale is seeking a Machine Operator / Welder to work with fabrication shop employees to prepare pipe and other materials for company jobs. The role performs welding functions in the fabrication shop while following safety measures and completing work efficiently and on time. The position is represented by Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #219. It requires working in a fast-paced, multitasked environment with attention to detail and accuracy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of welding experience, with skill levels sufficient to obtain a 2G qualification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong math skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches and prepare materials accordingly.
• Adjust welding parameters and machine settings to ensure welds meet specifications.
• Inspect welds for non-conformances or missing welds; repair or rework as needed and alert other employees when necessary.
• Perform daily machine maintenance.
• Inspect pipe for quality issues and verify that end preparation is correct.
