About The Position
The Machine Operator is responsible for performing basic machine operation using computer-controlled or mechanical machines, ensuring they are properly set up, operating effectively, and producing quality products. The role involves working with components and gauging equipment, making changeover adjustments, operating workstations, troubleshooting minor machine timeouts, completing preventive maintenance and required documentation, and supporting safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement activities. The position is based at Milwaukee Tool’s Jackson, Mississippi location.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents, drawings, and blueprints.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic machine troubleshooting skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Understand motor components and their functions.
- Load, unload, and inspect components according to Operational Method Sheets (OMS), using proper gauging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Make adjustments as required for changeovers.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and correct minor machine timeouts.
- Set up and operate 1 up/down workstations.
- Perform monthly preventive maintenance requirements.
- Inform the team leader about processes or equipment requiring attention.
- Complete rework and scrap documentation as required or requested.
- Package service parts.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects intended to improve processes, productivity, and quality, especially projects related to corrective actions.
- Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area.
- Practice 5Ss.
