About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for basic machine operation, working with computer-controlled or mechanical machines to ensure they are properly set up, operating well, and producing quality products. The role is based at Milwaukee Tool’s Jackson, Mississippi location. Employees are encouraged to contribute to continuous improvement and can access internal development opportunities. The position involves operating and setting up workstations, handling and inspecting components, making changeover adjustments, troubleshooting minor machine timeouts, carrying out preventive maintenance, documenting rework and scrap, and packaging service parts. The operator also supports continuous improvement and corrective-action projects, maintains a safe work area, and practices 5S. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and includes standing, repetitive motions, rapid work, and working in various temperatures. The role requires use of safety glasses, leather shoes, gloves, and ear plugs.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents, drawings, and blueprints.
Basic math skills.
Basic machine troubleshooting skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Understand basic motor components and their functions.
Load, unload, and inspect components according to Operational Method Sheets (OMS), using proper gauging equipment safely and efficiently.
Make adjustments as required for changeovers.
Identify, troubleshoot, and correct minor machine timeouts.
Set up and operate 1 up/down workstations.
Perform monthly preventive maintenance requirements.
Inform the team leader about processes or equipment requiring attention.
Complete rework and scrap documentation as required or requested.
Package service parts.
Participate in continuous improvement projects designed to improve processes, productivity, and quality, especially those related to corrective actions.
Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area.
Practice 5S.
