About The Position

The Machine Operator 2 operates production equipment, including punch presses, press brakes, folding machines, turret presses, flatbed lasers, tube benders, buffing lines, CNC mills, and saws. The position involves setting up and tending machines, monitoring product quality, and recording production information. The work environment may expose employees to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures. Requirements

At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Ability to use hand and power tools, such as nibblers and power saws.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills.
Quality-driven approach, strong attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Working knowledge of high-speed production machinery and measurement tools.
Ability to follow first-piece inspection procedures (First Off Green Tag Procedure).
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, protractor, and other required inspection tools.
Willingness and ability to work in an environment that may involve coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

Responsibilities

Perform machine setups, including calibration and cleaning, to start production cycles.
Sand and deburr parts when necessary.
Tend to machines and products to ensure quality and proper operation.
Use and interpret gauging equipment to verify product dimensions.
Complete daily machine check sheets and production records.
Control and adjust machine functions and settings, such as speed.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Make frequent quality checks to ensure quality parts are being produced.
Feed necessary raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
Load programs and set up tooling in machines.
