About The Position

The Mach Spec sets up and operates one or more machines to cut and process screen frame material to specifications, or to cut and punch wood, metal, or glass materials. The role adjusts machines to produce parts within tolerance while maintaining acceptable scrap levels, inspects parts for quality and dimensional accuracy, and performs tooling changeovers and machine maintenance. The Mach Spec also directs and trains personnel to help maximize equipment efficiency, maintains required documentation, and follows safety and quality requirements.

Requirements

Reading and writing skills sufficient to read and comprehend simple correspondence and process specified instructions.
Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers in all units of measure.
Ability to measure with, read, and understand a tape measure.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate machines to cut and process screen frame material or cut and punch wood, metal, or glass materials.
Direct other personnel to assist in maximizing equipment efficiency.
Adjust machines to produce parts within tolerance and maintain scrap at acceptable levels.
Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, camber, bow, and scratches.
Perform quality checks using a caliper, tape measure, or check gauge.
Perform tooling changeovers.
Change saw blades and adjust depth of cut as needed.
Enter production orders into the controller.
Lubricate machines and tooling according to the preventative maintenance schedule or as needed.
Complete required cleaning to meet specifications.
Operate equipment within safety guidelines and report nonconformance.
Maintain required documentation.
Train and assist personnel with processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
